Fear of death in Ukraine and reprisals in Russia: Russian generals do not have one opinion on offensive in Donbas - Budanov
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, said that there was no agreement among the generals in Russia on offensives
He said this on the air of the All-Ukrainian telethon, Ukrainian Truth reports.
"In fact, the Russians are preparing for a decisive battle for them (in Donbas, - ed.), they are in a great hurry, because they are very limited in time. Let's just say, they really want to have time to get at least some advantage and real tactical achievements, who will be able to show how, to a certain extent, "winning" from Russia in this "special operation". They are in a hurry to, let's say, Easter (April 24 - ed.)", Budanov added.
He assured that Russian invaders would not succeed and Ukraine would be defended.
"Certain tactical victories are possible (of the Russian invaders - ed.). Some of our villages change hands two or three times a day. The Russian generals do not have unity for one reason only - at this stage, it is definitely confirmed about the destruction of 8 generals (Russian Armed Forces - ed.) And this factor actually scares a lot of them", the head of intelligence said.
The head of the GUR MO added that they are also afraid of experiencing reprisals in case of failure.
Budanov said that intelligence has no data on a decrease in the group of Russian invaders in Mariupol.
According to him, Ukrainian intelligence has evidence that the Russians are running out of precision-guided missiles. At the same time, due to sanctions, there is no way to start production.
