During the war, our best television resources must fully work for Ukraine - film director Leonid Muzhuk on the shutdown of Espreso, Channel 5 and Pryamiy from the T2 network
Film director and screenwriter Leonid Muzhuk called for the return of Espreso, Channel 5 and Pryamiy to the T2 network so that they could fully work in Ukraine during the war with Russia
Leonid Muzhuk wrote about this on Facebook.
According to him, while Espreso, Channel 5 and Pryamiy are not allowed to air, representatives of TV channels are involved in the national telethon, which have been carrying out undisguised activities against Ukrainian information sovereignty for a long time.
"NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov in an interview with BBC News Ukraine commented on the shutdown of Espreso, Pryamiy and Channel 5 from digital air. In particular, he stated: "We have a decision of the National Security and Defense Council, which says that national channels should participate in the national marathon. If they want, let them join". TV channels can't join yet - and no matter how loud they shout, none of the influential statesmen hear them! And why? The main paradox of this state-responsible information process is a very sad fact: for a really difficult information work, as we can see, mostly representatives of those TV channels that have been working for a long time are involved in undisguised activities against Ukrainian information sovereignty, defiantly used our national space to support Moscow's interests, exploiting the language factor, bombarding the public consciousness of Ukrainians with imperial narratives of "Russian world", wrote Muzhuk.
He emphasized that at the current stage of the war it is not only premature to unconditionally believe in such a lightning-fast ideological and television metamorphosis, but also too dangerous in view of the scale of acute, specific, hidden and already identified problems of our information policy.
"It's not just about simple trust in the virtues of journalists. Not all TV channels involved in the marathon, given the practical interests of their founders, of course, are capable of doing this big and honest work for the establishment of Ukraine in the Ukrainian state. Some may still believe that such a historical goal is unreceptive and alien. And without such a national unity of society, there will be no happy prospects for Ukraine. And Ukrainians have no right to postpone such a long-launched work by television journalists for later. Therefore, rotation is needed already. And immediately", Muzhuk is convinced.
The director emphasized that during the war with the insidious enemy, the best television resources should fully work for Ukraine.
"Espreso is the first such Ukrainian TV channel, whose journalists are the best able to strengthen the combined efforts of TV people in the common national marathon. Besides, it is pointless to do this, knowing that no one has the right to groundlessly remove the best Ukrainian journalistic forces from the widely available frequency resource! It should be just the opposite: the state institutions for information policy, including the Ministry of Culture, should contribute - and even ask - the selfless national interests of the journalistic teams of these three Ukrainian TV channels to urgent work aimed at Ukrainian victory. During a deadly war with an insidious enemy, our best television resources should fully work for Ukraine. We have the fact that our statesmen unwittingly, consciously or unconsciously, but precisely with their "indifferent" policy, still contribute to our eternal enemy in his hateful war against Ukraine as a state", Muzhuk stated.
