Demining to take decades, we constantly find explosives: Kharkiv regional official
The head of the Izium district military administration, Stepan Maselsky, said that a high level of mine danger persists in the region
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"Two days ago, a man went to the field to inspect a plot of land and stepped on an unknown explosive object, unfortunately this incident was fatal," Maselsky said.
According to him, this situation will last for decades, because it is impossible to examine the territory that was contaminated by the occupying Russian army.
"We have examined the places of mass gathering of people. Today, we are demining critical infrastructure, sappers are working on people's requests. We are constantly finding explosive items. There are many tripwires and mines along the contact line. The situation is complicated, and we need to work on it constantly," said Maselsky.
