This is reported on the website of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Out of the 48 people who lost their lives, 23 were men, 21 were women, and two were children - a boy and a girl. The gender of the two adults is still unknown.

Among the 210 people injured, 97 were men, 57 were women, six were boys, and one was a girl. Additionally, there were two children and 47 adults whose gender remains unidentified.

This count includes 37 killed and 176 injured individuals from 55 communities in the areas controlled by Ukraine. It also covers 11 killed and 34 injured from six settlements in regions temporarily occupied by Russia.

The primary reasons for these fatalities, according to the UN, were explosive weapons, mines, and objects that cause powerful explosions.

Since the start of Russia's major invasion of Ukraine, the UN has been able to verify 9,444 deaths and 16,940 injuries. Among them, 7,339 deaths and 13,969 injuries occurred in Ukraine-controlled territories.

The OHCHR (Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights) also believes that the actual numbers of civilian casualties are likely much higher. This is due to delays in receiving information from areas with ongoing intense battles and many reports that are still awaiting confirmation. This is especially concerning for places like Mariupol, Lysychansk, Popasna, and Sievierodonetsk, where significant civilian casualties have been reported.

  • On the night of August 15, the Russian army carried out a massive missile strike on Ukraine. Houses and businesses in Dnipro, Lviv, Lutsk, and Cherkasy region were hit, leading to casualties, injuries, and destruction. More details can be found at the provided link.
