Russian Federation captured foreign ship in the port of Mariupol, 18 Ukrainians and one  Egyptian were taken out to ORDLO, - Denisova

This was announced by Ukrainian parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova in Telegram.

"On the territory of Mariupol Sea Commercial Port, Russian military captured and evacuated in unknown direction all crew of SMARTA ship under the flag of Liberia, and a wife of  ship's captain, who was on board at the time. According to preliminary data, ", - she wrote

Denisova said that 18 people are citizens of Ukraine, 1 - citizen of Egypt.

"There is no connection with the crew and captain's wife. Before sailors were captured, Russian troops fired on the ship," the ombudsman added.

Ship entered the port of Mariupol on February 21 and was to travel to Turkey. However, due to Russian invasion, he didn’t receive permission to go to sea and remained moored in the port of Mariupol.
