More and more Ukrainians believe that renewing friendly relations with Russians is impossible - poll

This is evidenced by the data of the survey of the sociological group "Rating".

So, on March 8-9, 42% of respondents said that the restoration of friendly relations is impossible, 6% found it difficult to answer, 22% expressed the opinion that this is possible in 20-30 years, 18% - in 10-15 years, 12% - that friendly relations with the Russians may be renewed in a few years.

On April 6, 64% of respondents called it impossible to restore friendly relations with Russians, 4% found it difficult to answer, 22% suggested that it would be possible in 20-30 years, 7% - in 10-15 years, 4% consider it possible to restore friendly relations with Russians in a few years.

"Even in the south and east regions, more than half of the respondents do not believe in the restoration of friendship between nations", sociologists say.

In addition, the absolute majority (91%) of the respondents do not support the thesis that Russians and Ukrainians are allegedly "one nation". Now only 8% agree with this thesis (in August 2021 there were 41% of them, in March 2022 - 21%). At the same time, support for this thesis is still recorded among 23% of residents in the east of the country and among 13% of older respondents.

"In other macro-regions and age groups, there is almost no support for such a thesis", the "Rating" notes.
