Zaluzhnyi focuses on breakthrough to Azov Sea after meeting with NATO, British chiefs of staff
After a secret meeting with Britain’s and NATO military chiefs, Admiral Tony Radakin and Christopher Cavoli, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, decided to focus on the offensive on the Zaporizhzhia front
This is reported by The Guardian.
It is noted that on August 15, some of the highest-ranking NATO military officials travelled to a secret location on the Polish-Ukrainian border to meet with Ukraine's chief military commander, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, at a "military council".
The purpose of Zaluzhnyi's five-hour meeting with NATO Supreme Allied Commander General Christopher Cavoli and British Admiral Tony Radakin was to help reset Ukraine's military strategy. Thus, the main issue on the agenda was Ukraine's counter-offensive, as well as battle plans for the grueling winter.
British sources are reluctant to report on the outcome of the meeting at the border. However, according to The Guardian, the West has noticed that the strategy has changed as a result of the discussions.
"I think you can see that they are focused on the Zaporizhzhia front," said one insider amid reports of new Ukrainian attacks targeting the city of Tokmak, which is the first step to the Azov Sea.
