US warns Russia against using american nuclear technology at occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP
Official Washington has sent a letter to Rosatom warning it not to touch American nuclear technologies at the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP in Enerhodar
This was reported by CNN with reference to a letter from the US Department of Energy.
It is noted that the United States has its own secret nuclear technologies at the Ukrainian Zaporizhzhia NPP, temporarily occupied by the Russian forces. On March 17, 2023, Washington sent a letter to Rosatom warning not to touch them.
The products, software and technologies are subject to U.S. export controls and the threat of their potential use by the Russian Federation undermines U.S. national security.
"It is unlawful under United States law for non-authorized persons, including, but not limited to, Russian citizens and Russian entities, such as Rosatom and its subsidiaries, to knowingly and willfully access, possess, control, export, store, seize, review, re-export, ship, transfer, copy, manipulate such technology or technical data," the letter to Rosatom reads.
Official Washington confirmed the information about the warning.
