Current Time TV Channel reports on September 16, citing the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia.
The detainees included citizens of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan, who were said to be in Russia illegally.
Additionally, 92 detained people had recently acquired Russian citizenship and were handed draft notices.
This follows a law signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin in August 2024, requiring mandatory military registration for new citizens.
Alexander Bastrykin, the head of the Russian Investigative Committee, previously stated that new citizens gain not only rights but also the constitutional duty to defend Russia.
- On September 6, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian troops were advancing in the Kursk region, and the Russian army had lost 6,000 soldiers in a month of fighting.
