Russia boosts aerial reconnaissance by 40% – Ukrainian military
Russian forces have ramped up their aerial reconnaissance operations by around 40% in the area overseen by Ukraine's Kharkiv group of forces
This was revealed by Vitaliy Sarantsev, spokesperson for the Kharkiv troop grouping, during a live broadcast on the United News telethon.
"The enemy’s (Russian troops - ed.) aerial reconnaissance has increased by approximately 40%. They're conducting it day and night. This serves two purposes: first, to locate Ukrainian Defense Forces units and target them with artillery or other firepower; second, to map out movement routes for their own troops. They observe specific areas and try to plan optimal routes for moving personnel and equipment," Sarantsev explained.
He also mentioned that Russian troops in Vovchansk are using vehicles to transport personnel and supplies. According to him, on the evening of September 15, Russia attempted to bring reinforcements into the city, but their vehicles were detected and partially destroyed along with the crews.
"Russia is conducting aerial reconnaissance within the city itself. They’re also searching for new routes for logistics operations because our FPV drones, to put it mildly, are preventing them from moving freely. Whether it’s for assaults or delivering supplies and ammunition to the frontlines, our drones are giving them a hard time," Sarantsev emphasized.
- On September 7, it was reported that in Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, Ukrainian Armed Forces and Russian occupying troops occasionally clashed within multi-story buildings.
