US couple running 1,200 km in support of Ukraine visits Ternopil
A US couple running the Don't Can't for Ukraine marathon reached Ternopil, where the National Guard ran 5 km with them
The Ternopil Regional Military Administration reported.
‘Tyler and Nikki Chay from the United States of America are running the Don't Can't for Ukraine marathon to draw the world's attention to the events in Ukraine. Today, the couple arrived in Ternopil, where they were joined by representatives of the National Guard of Ukraine, who ran a symbolic distance of 5 kilometers,’ the Ternopil Regional Military Administration stated.
The pair have already run 300 kilometers from the Romanian border. This is 7 marathons. In total, the couple will cover 1200 kilometers and finish the marathon in Zaporizhzhia.
‘The US media portrays Ukraine as a completely bombed-out country. Despite the war, there are wonderful cities and people here. We want the world to see this and support Ukrainians even more. This race is not just a test of physical endurance - it is a gesture of support for the defenders who are fighting for Ukraine's freedom and independence,’ said Tyler Chay.

- On September 11, Tyler and Nikki Chay, as well as their friends Ryan and Mila Bircher, visited Ivano-Frankivsk. During their race, the families also raised funds to be donated to a Protestant church in Mariupol that helps soldiers, displaced persons and orphans. 11 persons taken care of by this church are now serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
