Ukraine hands over 5 Muslims to Russia in latest swap
During the last POW exchange, on April 16, Ukraine handed over five more Muslim prisoners to Russia
The Coordination Center for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported the information.
"On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, Ukraine took the initiative to release all Muslim prisoners from both sides," the agency writes.
However, there was no response from Russia. Not a single Ukrainian Muslim prisoner of war has been released.
Russian Muslims were reportedly not received very hospitably and without due respect in their homeland.
Ramzan Kadyrov refused to meet with the released prisoners of war and said that all those who were captured should return to the front line.
"This once again demonstrates the aggressor state's disdainful attitude towards its military. The international community should pay attention to the inhumane attitude of the aggressor state even to its own military who return from captivity," the headquarters emphasizes.
At the same time, Ukraine is constantly launching humanitarian initiatives to protect the rights and release of prisoners of war.
Earlier, on April 10, on the occasion of Ramadan, which lasts until April 21, Ukraine handed over 2 captured Muslim military personnel to Russia. In total, 7 prisoners have been brought back to Russia.
