Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets shared the information.
“Thanks to the efforts of state authorities, employees of our Office, volunteers and international partners, we managed to return 17 more Ukrainian citizens from the occupation,” he wrote.
Among those returned from the temporarily occupied territories are:
- A man who lost a limb due to shelling and endured ill-treatment while deprived of his freedom, currently undergoing rehabilitation.
- Three families from the Kherson region, who had been under occupation for a long period. One family lost their mother, while another required medical care due to the advanced age of a member.
- A couple from Crimea.
- An elderly woman and her daughter, who traveled alone through Russia to return home.
- An elderly man with a disability, visually impaired and in need of medical care and special attention.
- A 77-year-old woman evacuated from an area of active hostilities, requiring medical care for chronic diseases.
- A man who had been in the occupied territory for nearly three years, seeking to leave for a better future, along with two women.

- Earlier, as part of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative, three children were returned from the Russian-occupied territory to government-controlled areas. The group included a 17-year-old teenager and two young boys.
