Ukraine's MFA expects Zelenskyy, Trump to meet shortly after inauguration
Kyiv is expecting President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to meet with Donald Trump shortly after his inauguration in the United States on January 20
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi stated this, European Pravda reports.
"Our position is very simple: all of us in Ukraine want to end the war in a fair way for Ukraine. And we see that President Trump is also determined to end the war. Therefore, the main thing is that we are now waiting for a meeting between our presidents — President Trump and President Zelenskyy. Because the main thing for us is to work together with America for peace," Tykhyi said.
The spokesperson emphasized that Ukraine is preparing for Ukrainian-American contacts at the highest and most senior levels "immediately after the inauguration."
"Contacts between the leaders of Ukraine and the United States will definitely take place. Contacts at all other levels are also being prepared and will definitely take place after the inauguration," he emphasized.
