Pro-Russian party leader in Bulgaria makes territorial claims on Ukraine’s Odesa
Kostadin Kostadinov, leader of Bulgaria’s pro-Russian "Vazrazdane" (Renaissance) party, has claimed that Bulgaria should lay territorial claims to Southern Bessarabia, part of which is in Ukraine’s Odesa region
In the Facebook post, Kostadinov argued that Bulgaria should unite with North Macedonia and include Southern Bessarabia, stating: "It was part of Bulgaria for over 450 years. Bulgarians have been the indigenous majority there since the 6th century. In contrast, Ukraine has only held Southern Bessarabia for 34 years. Ukraine is falling apart, and at the upcoming peace congress, which will determine the fate of the so-called failed Ukrainian statehood, Bulgaria should claim Bulgarian Bessarabia."
According to Kostadinov, Donald Trump's claims about Canada and the Panama Canal are completely justified.

Ukraine’s Embassy in Bulgaria condemned Kostadinov’s remarks, calling them unacceptable for a politician from an EU member state.
"The statements made by the leader of the Renaissance party regarding territorial encroachments on Ukraine are unacceptable for a politician from an EU member state and confirm his systematic promotion of the Kremlin's narratives," the statement reads.
