Minsk will be held responsible for helping Russia in war against Ukraine — Belarusian opposition leader
Vadzim Kabanchuk, the Defense and National Security representative of Belarus's United Transitional Cabinet, believes that Minsk will eventually face accountability for its active support of Russia in the war against Ukraine
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"The Lukashenko regime constantly speculates on the narrative that they are maintaining stability in Belarus. That is, while there are wars and cataclysms everywhere else, everything is quiet and calm in Belarus. However, at what cost does this happen? Belarus's military-industrial complex is now fully working in the interests of the Russian Federation. All those missiles and bombs that hit Ukraine in 2022 were launched from Belarusian territory. Minsk continues to actively assist the Russian aggressor in waging war against Ukraine. However, sooner or later, Ukraine and the rest of the world will demand accountability for these actions. Therefore, Belarus's support for Russia in its war against Ukraine will not go without consequences," Kabanchuk explained.
According to Kabanchuk, Lukashenko fully understands that sooner or later, he will have to bear responsibility for assisting Putin.
"Currently, all Belarusian factories are loaded with orders for the Russian army, but accountability for these actions will follow. Lukashenko is well aware of this, and his recent statements confirm it. In particular, when he expressed outrage at President Zelenskyy's remarks. This indicates that he is thinking about it. Further evidence of this is Belarus's apparent eagerness to participate in negotiations between Ukraine and Russia," he added.
