Thousands of people passed through the torture chambers set up by the occupiers in the Kherson region, even separate cells for abusing children were found.

Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, stated this on the air of the Freedom TV channel, Ukrinform reports.

"Regarding the number of people who passed through them (torture houses, - ed.) are thousands of people. You know, I visited all the liberated territories, but the scale of violations of international humanitarian law that I saw there (in the Kherson region, - ed.) even I was horrified. Here, the Russian Federation has already reached the point where it separately made a cell for children, where they were beaten in the same way," Lubinets noted.

According to him, the occupiers did not beat people in order to get information, but just to do so. According to witnesses, people were caught on the street, bags were put on their heads, they were taken to the torture chamber and tortured without asking any questions. At the same time, electricity was used against people.

Lubinets noted that people were brought to such a state that some of them even asked to kill them.

And in one of the torture chambers, people were not given food and water, they were forced to collect technical water from a pipe in the cell and pass it to each other, the ombudsman said.

"The guys collected this technical water in a plastic bottle and passed it from cell to cell. There was a small hole where a pipe for heating passed,... people passed this bottle through this hole so that the bottle was distributed to all the cells - and there were 6 of them. (Then) it returned back - and again they collected (water)," Lubinets said.

The Russian military captured the torture on video, as if enjoying the process. The ombudsman noted that it is impossible to explain "why such cruelty, such treatment was just for ordinary civilians, and even more so for children."
