Colonel killed, 26 police officers, 4 civilians injured in Russian missile strike on Kharkiv
On November 1, Russia launched missile attacks on Ukraine's Kharkiv. A strike on a law enforcement facility resulted in one death and injuries to 26 police officers and four civilians
Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, shared this information.
He reported that the four injured civilians - three women and one man - sustained minor injuries. The attack also damaged 20 residential buildings, both private homes and apartments. The missiles used in the attack were S-300s.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko stated that Russia targeted a law enforcement location, resulting in one death and injuries to 26 police officers. He expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased Colonel Andrii Matvienko, noting that some of the injured officers are in serious condition, with doctors fighting for their lives.
At 5:49 p.m,, Dmytro Chubenko, the spokesman for the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office, reported that Russia had attacked the Osnovianskyy district of Kharkiv. He said that two ballistic missiles were launched, severely damaging two private homes.
According to initial reports, the Russians launched their attack from the Belgorod region. Forensic experts are examining the wreckage to determine whether S-300, S-400, or Iskander-M missiles were used.
At 4:06 p.m., Syniehubov reported explosions in Kharkiv.
