Putin in winning position, not in need of any negotiations - international expert Nesvitalov
International expert Nesvitailov believes that Russia is not planning any negotiations to end the war against Ukraine
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
‘If Trump wins the election, he may indeed threaten Putin with providing Ukraine with all the necessary weapons and permits to use them if he refuses to end the war. However, Putin could also threaten to use China's help to invade Taiwan. Or integration with China, even supplying nuclear weapons to Beijing. This will be the end of Donald Trump's argument,’ Nesvitalov explained.
The expert noted that Russia is not interested in negotiations because it is in a winning position.
‘At a fundamental level, Trump has no understanding of how it all works. He showed this during his previous term. Trump has already met with Kim Jong-un and said that the crisis would end. It only got worse. In addition, he also spoiled relations with South Korea. The same thing happened with the wall on the border with Mexico. He said that Mexico would pay for the construction of the wall itself.
Unfortunately, we are in a situation where there is no unambiguously positive outcome of the US election for Ukraine. There is a moderately bad one and a likely catastrophic one. We should also take into account the extent to which Russia is ready to negotiate. Right now, they are definitely not. They are in a strong position. Russia continues to advance on the territory of Ukraine and occupy new settlements. There is no reaction from the world to the DPRK troops on the front line at all. Putin is in a winning position, he does not need negotiations at all,’ he added.
