The partisan movement "Atesh" reported the information.
The guerillas noted that Russians have tightened surveillance of residents celebrating Christmas on December 25.
For example, collaborators in workplaces are gathering information about people who follow this tradition and passing it to the FSB. These residents are labeled as "potential saboteurs."
Russian-installed authorities reportedly see Christmas celebrations on December 24–25 as a display of Ukrainian identity and a "threat" to their control.
They are also attempting to suppress all cultural traditions connected to the Ukrainian church and its people.
"Attempts to erase Ukrainian culture are doomed to fail," the partisans stated.
- In schools and kindergartens across the occupied territories, Russian forces have banned commemorations of St. Nicholas and Santa Claus during New Year festivities.
