217 clashes occur on Russian-Ukrainian front: Ukraine repel 57 attacks in Pokrovsk sector

Since the start of December 26, 217 combat clashes were registered on the Russian-Ukrainian front. Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions 57 times in the Pokrovsk sector

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this as of 8:00 a.m. on December 26.

According to updated information, yesterday Russia launched one missile strike with 73 missiles on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, as well as 17 airstrikes, dropping 35 guided bombs. Additionally, they launched over 5,000 shelling attacks, including 181 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 2,105 ‘kamikaze’ drones in attacks.

Nine settlements were hit by Russian airstrikes yesterday.

Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a Russian command post and a UAV control center.

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian defenders' positions three times near Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russians launched seven attacks. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled attacks near Dvorichna, Pishchane, Kolisnykivka, and Lozova, as the Russian army tried to leverage its numerical advantage.

In the Lyman sector, Russia attacked 26 times, attempting to breach Ukrainian defenses near Novoiehorivka, Kopanky, Zelenyi Hai, Makiivka, Terny, Yampilivka, Serebryanka Forest, and towards Druzheliubivka.

In the Siversk sector, Russian troops carried out two attacks near Bilohorivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces launched 11 attacks near Stupochky, Chasiv Yar, and Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk sector, 13 Russian attacks occurred near Toretsk, Diliivka, and Shcherbynivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders halted 57 attacks near Zelene Pole, Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Pokrovsk, Novyi Trud, Zelene, and Novotroitske, with Russian troops amassing forces for further attacks.

In the Kurakhove sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 31 Russian attacks. Some positions were destroyed due to Russian attacks and fire, with the most intense actions near Petropavlivka, Slovyanka, Yasenove, Kurakhove, Andriivka, and Dachne.

In the Vremivka sector, Russian forces conducted 35 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Kostiantynopil, Yantarne, Rozlyv, Velyka Novosilka, Novosilka, Blahodatne, and Vremivka.

In the Huliaipole sector, there was one attempt to breach Ukrainian defenses near Bilohirya.

In the Orikhiv sector, occupying Russian forces launched two assaults near Novodanilivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Ukrainian forces repelled three attacks preventing further advances.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.

The operation in the Kursk region is ongoing. Russia fired over 440 times over the past day. Ukrainian defenders repelled 26 attacks, with one clash still ongoing.

  • On December 24, Ukraine's Defense Forces eliminated 1,600 Russian troops and over 100 units of Russian equipment and weaponry.
