Russian army launches 35 attacks on Ukrainian positions in Pokrovsk sector

Since the start of December 25, 128 combat clashes have been reported at the front. The Russian army launched 35 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Pokrovsk sector

According to Ukraine's General Staff, Russian forces continue to use aviation and drop guided aerial bombs.

"Russian forces are still using artillery to target areas along the frontlines. Baranivka, Zarichne, Prohres, Stepok, and Hirky in the Sumy region, as well as Kostobobriv in the Chernihiv region, were hit by Russian fire," the General Staff added.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv region, one clash took place near Vovchansk. 

In the Kupyansk sector, five assaults were reported near Dvorichna, Pishchane, Kolisnykivka, and Lozova, with three of them still ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian army attacked near Novoiehorivka, Kopanky, Zelenyi Hai, Makiivka, Terny, Yampolivka, the Serebryansky forest, and towards Druzheliubivka. A total of 19 engagements have occurred in this area today, with three still in progress.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled an attack near Bilohorivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled four Russian attempts to advance near Stupochky, with one firefight still ongoing.

In the Toretsk sector, the Russian army attacked Ukrainian positions six times near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka, with three firefights still taking place.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions 35 times near Zelene Pole, Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachanske, Pokrovsk, Novyi Trud, Zelene, and Novotroitske. Seven of these engagements are still ongoing.

In the Kurakhove sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 Russian attacks near Petropavlivka, Slovianka, Yasenove, Kurakhove, and Dachne. Seven of these clashes are still ongoing.

In the Vremivka sector, Ukrainian forces stopped 17 Russian attacks near Kostiantynopolske, Yantarne, Kostiantynopil, Rozlyv, Velyka Novosilka, Novosilka, Blahodatne, and Vremivka. Eight attacks are still ongoing.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled two Russian attempts to advance towards Novodanylivka.

In the Kursk sector, 16 combat engagements were reported, with eight still ongoing. The Russian army also launched 266 artillery strikes.

No active hostilities were reported in the Huliaipole and Prydniprovskyi sectors today.

  • Over the past day, Ukraine's Defense Forces eliminated 1,600 Russian troops and over 100 units of Russian equipment and weaponry.
