Odesa faces most intense missile attacks among Ukraine's rear areas in October
In October, Russian missile strikes hit Odesa and the Odesa region on 14 of the 31 days
Military expert Oleksandr Kovalenko shared this information on his Telegram channel.
According to him, a total of 29 missiles were launched at Odesa and the Odesa region, including 9M723 Iskander-M, Kh-31P, and Kh-59/69 missiles, along with some unidentified types.
He reported that the overall missile interception rate was only 15 percent.
In October, in total, the Russian military fired 84 missiles at Ukraine, with over a third of them targeting Odesa and the Odesa region.
Kovalenko emphasized that concerns about Odesa's air defense capabilities have been ongoing since 2022, but the issue became more pressing in 2023 when Russia began targeting grain facilities.
This led to combined strikes on Odesa occurring almost every 2-3 days, often with relative success.
- On the evening of October 31, the Russian army launched a missile attack on a fire station in the Ukrainian city of Odesa, injuring two rescuers and damaging a cemetery.
