Russia attacked Ukraine with over 2,000 drones in October — Ukraine’s General Staff
In October 2024, Russian forces deployed 2,023 Shahed-type attack UAVs and unidentified drones against civilian and military targets in Ukraine
Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported the information.
“Of these, 1,185 were destroyed/suppressed by Ukrainian defenders, 738 units were lost locally, and another 29 UAVs left the controlled airspace of our country,” the statement said.
The General Staff added that since the beginning of the year, Russia has launched 6,987 attack UAVs at Ukraine, primarily targeting civilian and critical infrastructure
“Thanks to the professionalism and skill of Ukrainian Defense Forces servicemen, thousands of lives of our people were saved from Russian air terror, hundreds of homes of Ukrainian citizens and important state facilities were saved from destruction. Anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups continue to defend the Ukrainian sky around the clock,” the General Staff emphasized.
