Russian occupying forces illegally relocate more than 6,000 Ukrainian children
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russian forces have kidnapped 6,032 Ukrainian children and took them to the Russian Federation or the occupied territories of Ukraine
Olena Vykhor, Head of Secretariat Management of the Ombudsman, stated live on Suspilne TV channel.
"I must clarify - these are not only children who were ‘deported’ to the Russian Federation, but also to the territories that are not under control of Ukrainian authorities. In fact, these are children of Ukraine, kidnapped by Russian soldiers and taken to a territory where laws of Ukraine and humanity do not apply", she said.
Vykhor reported that on the evening of November 4, parliament’s Secretariat of the Human Rights Commissioner, received information that 12 children from Oleshky orphanage-boarding home, where children with limited physical abilities stay, were taken to Simferopol district of Crimea for so-called rehabilitation. According to her, if Russians do not return children to Ukraine in time, they will be considered 'deported'.
