Belarus deployed 1,500 troops to Ukraine border in December
Over the past month, Belarus redeployed armed forces units to the border with Ukraine, reversing withdrawals made in September-October 2024. The total number of troops moved is around 1,500

This information comes from the monitoring group Belarusian Hajun.
According to their data, Minsk has sent units to the Stolin, Lelchytsy, Mazyr, and Gomel districts of Belarus. Specifically:
- 11th OMB: Deployed to the Stolin and Lelchytsy districts
- 120th OMB: Positioned near the Ziabrauka and Bokau airfields
- 147th OMB: Battery of the "Osa-AKM" air defense system (exact location unknown)
"The exact time of redeployment of the units is unknown. The number of those redeployed to the border can be estimated at about 1500 people," the monitoring group stated.
Meanwhile, Belarusian Hajun highlights that Belarusian special forces remain stationed at the border with Ukraine.
"The units of the Belarusian Armed Forces and Internal Troops deployed in the southern regions of Belarus do not pose a military threat to Ukraine at the moment," the report concludes.
- Additionally, during December 2024, 145 "Shahed" drones were recorded flying into Belarus. Altogether, Belarus saw 395 Russian drones pass through its territory last year.
