Russian forces push from northern districts toward Chasiv Yar’s center — Ukraine’s 24th Brigade

“Chasiv Yar is being destroyed, but a lot of enemy infantry is being eliminated. Many Russian soldiers are losing their lives for unclear objectives, while our guys are repelling their attacks and assaults, which happen daily. The invaders attack head-on and also use small infantry groups. Additionally, the enemy is trying to deploy mechanized equipment,” Polukhin noted.

According to the press representative of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade, urban battles are ongoing in Chasiv Yar, with Russian soldiers trying to take cover in high-rise buildings.

“The Russian army is attempting to advance from the north of the city toward the central part. As a result, they are taking positions inside buildings, from which our guys are already engaging them. The canal remains an obstacle; the enemy has still not managed to fully establish a crossing for their equipment. The enemy is getting bogged down in urban combat, and it cannot be said that they are making rapid progress,” Polukhin emphasized.

• On Monday, February 24, 98 combat clashes were recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The most intense fighting took place in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions.
