Certain changes may occur: Defense Express on U.S. military aid
Military expert and director of the media and consulting company Defense Express, Valerii Ryabykh, noted that the supply of weapons to Ukraine from the U.S. continues
He said this during an interview on the Espreso TV channel.
"Judging by the statements of high-ranking military officials, the supply of weapons from the U.S. is continuing. This became possible because the Biden administration has done everything it could. It made the necessary decisions, paying for all supplies both under the Presidential Drawdown authority from US arsenals and for services from American companies producing various types of weapons and ammunition.
These are commercial contracts that will be carried out over a certain period of time, as the deadlines for fulfilling the contracts are by the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027. This includes the supply of Patriot systems and missiles for them, as well as other contracts being fulfilled by companies paid from the US budget," Riabykh explained.
The military expert also added that with the change of the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, certain changes in the military hierarchy are possible, as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff was replaced after he firmly stated that aid to Ukraine would continue without change.
"Therefore, I do not rule out that certain changes may occur in the future, and this could be influenced by the current US administration. Against this background, there is hope that our European partners understand the situation and make even more decisions regarding support for Ukraine, as well as increasing their own capabilities – both in weapons and ammunition production and in financing Ukraine’s needs. Notable are the statements regarding the allocation of 30 billion euros for Ukraine’s support," emphasized Riabykh.
- The US State Department is compiling a list of exceptions to the blocked foreign aid to Ukraine, which will allow access to certain economic and security assistance that is currently suspended.
