
Russia reports attack on Krasnodar region, claims to have shot down 128 drones overnight
On the night of February 26, drones attacked Russia’s Krasnodar region. Explosions were heard in Tuapse and Anapa, allegedly damaging three houses. The Carpetnplan was activated at Sochi Airport
The region’s governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, confirmed the attack.
According to him, three houses were reportedly damaged across multiple municipalities. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties.
“In Temryuk district, a private house in Starotitarevskaya had its windows shattered, while a roof was damaged in Strelka. In Tuapse, another house was hit, causing a fire that was quickly extinguished. In Dzhiginka, near Anapa, UAV debris fell near a house, damaging an outbuilding,” Kondratyev stated.
Local Telegram channels also reported the attack. One channel claims kamikaze drones are targeting Krasnodar Territory, with air defense systems responding over Anapa. The Carpet plan was activated at Sochi Airport.
According to Mash, at least five explosions were heard in Anapa. Locals report the blasts started around 00:10 Moscow time (23:10 Kyiv time).
“Up to ten loud bangs were heard near Vinogradny, Vityazevo, and over Anapa. There is no official information on casualties or damage,” a report said.
Sochi Airport activated the Carpet plan after detecting UAVs in the airspace. Flights were suspended at 01:47 Moscow time (00:47 Kyiv time).
The Astra channel also reported explosions in Tuapse.
By morning, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed air defenses had shot down 128 drones:
- 83 over Krasnodar Territory
- 30 over occupied Crimea
- 8 over the Sea of Azov
- 5 over the Black Sea
- 1 each over Bryansk and Kursk regions
On February 19, drones struck the Syzran Oil Refinery in Samara Region, sparking a fire at the facility.
