Defense Express writes that Germany has supplied Ukraine with 328 Patriot missiles and 658 IRIS-T missiles. The announcement was made in a briefing dedicated to the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

While Germany does not manufacture Patriot missiles, it remains the sole producer of IRIS-T. The country has also provided Ukraine with three Patriot systems, six IRIS-T air defense systems (SLM and SLS versions), 57 Gepard anti-aircraft guns, and two Skynex system.

The production capacity for these missiles varies. The GEM-T Patriot missiles are produced by Raytheon at a rate of 240 per year, while Lockheed Martin manufactures over 500 MSE missiles annually. Germany only began setting up its own production for GEM-T missiles in late 2023, and outside the U.S., Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries produces just 30 MSE missiles per year.

As for IRIS-T, details on Diehl’s production capacity remain undisclosed, but the company has begun expanding its facilities, with plans to increase output by late 2025.

Germany's continued support plays a crucial role in bolstering Ukraine’s air defense, despite production challenges.
