U.S.-Ukraine rare earth minerals deal includes security clause
The agreement on Ukrainian rare earth minerals with the U.S. now mentions security guarantees for Kyiv. Zelenskyy says it could be a major success or go unnoticed
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the framework agreement with the U.S. on Ukrainian rare earth minerals includes security guarantees for Kyiv in its 10th clause.
He mentioned this during a briefing, as reported by RBC-Ukraine.
"In the framework agreement, I really wanted at least one sentence mentioning 'security guarantees for Ukraine,' and according to government officials who briefed me, it appears in the 10th clause. It’s important that this is there. I will review it, and government officials propose that ministers sign the agreement," Zelenskyy said.
The president emphasized that this document "could either be a great success or quietly pass unnoticed." According to him, the outcome depends on his conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump.
