Macron's mission to U.S.: Europe’s struggle to adapt to Trump-Putin future
Assistance to Ukraine is only a secondary part of the agenda for European politicians. From now on, their main priority is self-preservation from the Russian-American threat
Macron’s visit and personal meeting with Trump strongly resemble his past meetings with Putin (remember the long table?). The goal is simple: to gauge his counterpart on a personal level and anticipate his moves.
Unfortunately, the conclusions are grim - for Ukraine, France, and Europe as a whole. This is now clear to everyone.
“The EU and France already understand that a Trump-Putin pact is not just realistic but nearly inevitable. Keir Starmer’s visit won’t change this. No force in the world - not even China, especially not China - can stop Trump and the techno-fascists' reckless drive for business with Putin.”
Everything is unfolding almost as Marx quotes: “With 100% profit, capital tramples all human laws; with 300%, there’s no crime it wouldn’t risk, even under the gallows.”
In reality, this phrase comes from British politician and economist Dunning (1860), and Marx merely cited it. But that’s not the point today.
Beyond business projects with Putin, Trump seeks a shared organizational model: divide and rule—autocracy at home, imperialism abroad.
As for "settling the Ukraine issue," it’s increasingly clear this means a U.S.-Russia condominium to exploit Ukrainian resources. Ukraine is seen not as an ally, partner, or victim of aggression, but as a resource-rich territory. This is a pilot project, with other nations to follow.
“That's why Macron and Starmer are desperately trying to jump onto the last car of this train - just to see where it's headed.”
To stay in the game, they offer their contribution: European peacekeepers in Ukraine (presence on land and at sea), not in opposition but in partnership with the U.S. (with air cover for these forces). It seems Trump has agreed - and even announced Putin’s approval. For Putin, the broader the condominium, the more partners Russia gains, reinforcing the legitimacy of its actions.
Participants in this condominium will call themselves guarantor states of a "stable and lasting peace."
So don’t be deceived by smiles - stay focused. We have our own path to follow, no matter what.
