Malta confirms organization of meeting to discuss Ukraine's Peace Formula
Ukraine and the partner countries agreed to hold further talks at the level of security advisers to the leaders of the states on the Ukrainian adoption of the Peace Formula in Malta
This is reported by the Times of Malta with reference to the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
Malta accepted the request of the Ukrainian President's Office to hold the meeting. The event is scheduled for October 28 and 29.
“It was easy for the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade to say yes,” the ministry said in a statement.
No details have been provided on who will attend the meeting, but it is known that the President of Ukraine will not attend.
“Next week’s hosting of the peace formula talks in Malta is the most concrete support that a country like Malta can provide for keeping the Ukrainian cause high on the international agenda,” Foreign Minister Ian Borg said.
Earlier, one of the Ukrainian publications wrote about the organization of the meeting in Malta, citing its own sources.
It was noted that this will be the third meeting of the advisers, whose main task is to agree on holding a Peace Summit or other event in a multilateral format, which should approve the Peace Formula based on Ukrainian proposals.
The first meeting took place in the Danish capital of Copenhagen in June, and the second in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in August.
"(Head of the President's Office - ed.) Andriy Yermak is currently planning a new meeting of national security and political advisers in Malta," one European Pravda source said.
Another source also confirmed that an agreement had been reached to hold the talks in the territory of the EU state of Malta. The meeting is expected to take place in late October and last two days.
The publication adds that negotiations are currently underway on the exact list of participants.
