Some Ukrainian units face ammunition shortage, strict measures in place – volunteer
Volunteer Yurii Tanasiichuk has said that certain units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions have introduced strict ammunition-saving measures due to a critical shortage of small arms supplies
He shared this information on Espreso TV.
"Today, we returned from the front lines. As always, the needs of our soldiers are largely technical. Specifically, drones of various types. The war continues, and UAVs have become essential. Ukrainian troops need reconnaissance, strike, ground, and other types of drones. Once again, there is a critical shortage of Mavic drones," he said.
The volunteer expressed hope that not all units on the front lines are struggling with a lack of small arms ammunition.
"Some units are facing an acute shortage of small arms and ammunition. I understand this may be linked to our international partners, but the problem is real. We met with some where strict ammunition-saving measures have been introduced. We traveled along the entire front in the Donetsk region and covered a significant part of the Kharkiv front. I won’t name specific locations where this problem exists, but it does. Part of the responsibility lies with brigade and battalion commanders. However, the overall supply chain and understanding of the Defense Forces' needs are handled in Kyiv," he added.
- On Sunday, January 5, the Ukrainian Armed Forces advanced up to 10 kilometers toward Velyke Soldatske on the Sudzha-Kursk highway.
