Russian hot air balloon found in northern Poland
On Sunday, January 5, a mysterious hot air balloon was discovered in northern Poland's historic Masuria region. Authorities believe it entered Polish territory from Russia

The balloon was found in a forest near the town of Prostki, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. Forestry workers discovered it and informed the police.
Initial checks confirmed that the object is a meteorological device, used to measure temperature and other data.
Cyrillic markings were visible on the balloon. Officials in Poland suspect it came from Russia's Kaliningrad region.
- On the night of October 25, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, their air defense destroyed 7 Ukrainian drones and a hot air balloon.
