Situation stabilized in Kupyansk sector, but Russia has advanced to Oskil River - Achilles Battalion
Oles Maliarevych, deputy commander of the 92nd Brigade's Achilles Battalion, says that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are doing everything possible to prevent Russia from advancing further
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
“We are working in three areas in the Kharkiv region. We are currently in active defense. The enemy attacks 24/7, but does not achieve territorial success. We are doing our job, which is active defense, where we not only defend ourselves but also counterattack and retake the positions the enemy leaves behind. This cannot be called counteroffensive actions - it is active defense,” explained Maliarevych.
According to the deputy commander of the Achilles Battalion, the situation in the Kupyansk sector is very difficult.
“You could see on DeepState how the enemy advanced to the Oskil River. So we decided to partially send our unit to reinforce it. The situation has been stabilized, but the enemy remains very close to the Oskil River. We continue to do everything possible to prevent the enemy from advancing further,” said Maliarevych.
The deputy commander of the Achilles Battalion also added that the territories that the Ukrainian Defense Forces de-occupied in 2022, such as Berestove and Novoselivske, are now back under Russia's control.
“It is especially sad that the territories where our battalion and company guys died are now under the enemy's control. Therefore, our principal task and motivation is to de-occupy these territories,” emphasized Maliarevych.
