Crimeans must understand that Russia is realizing its retreat from peninsula - politician Czech
Mirosław Czech, member of the Polish Sejm, historian and publicist, believes that the Russian army caused a huge man-made disaster by blowing up the Kakhovka HPP dam because it wouldn't have held back the Ukrainian landing force
He said this on Espreso TV.
“The blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam means that the retreating army is flooding some territory. On this territory, the occupiers built the first line of defense in the Kherson direction. The Russians decided that they had nothing to deter the Ukrainian landing as a potential direction of the Ukrainian army's attack, so they created such a huge man-made disaster,” the Polish politician said.
Mirosław Czech noted that the dam's undermining has very serious consequences for people, the economy of Ukraine, and the entire world, as it creates a food crisis.
“Also, as a result of this explosion, the North Crimean Canal stopped supplying water to Crimea. Again, this is a classic scorched earth strategy, which Stalin did in 1941, then Hitler in 1944-45. That is, after us, even a flood, because we are retreating from these territories, and if someone does get these lands, it will be impossible to do anything there for decades. Putin is doing the same thing with Crimea. Crimeans must understand that Russia is already realizing its retreat from the peninsula. Because everyone understands that the entry of Ukrainian forces to the administrative borders of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the Azov Sea coast will mean the destruction of the Crimean bridge and any communication with Russia,” Czech emphasized.
