Legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz in Kyiv for Zelensky Vogue shoot
World famous American portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz has come to Kyiv to take pictures of the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, and her husband, President Volodymyr Zelensky, for American Vogue
On July 26, Vogue magazine published photos by photographer Leibowitz and an article titled "Portrait of Courage: First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska".
"As the war in Ukraine enters a new critical phase, the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, has become a key player - a leading diplomat and a face that symbolizes the emotional damage of her nation", Vogue describes the main character.
Olena Zelenska posed not only on the sidelines of the President's Office, but also against the background of the destroyed Mriya plane.
The couple told the publication how the war affected their family. The first lady admitted that the separation from the children affected her husband a lot.
"It is much more difficult for him. He suffers. And the children suffer because they cannot see him", Olena Zelenska said.
"Like any ordinary man, I worry about them, about their safety. I don't want to expose them to danger... This is not romantic at all. This is a horror, what is happening here in Kyiv and throughout the country... But I miss them so much. I want to hug them so much", the president said about his children.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said that he is proud of his wife.
"She is very strong. She is probably stronger than I thought... Of course, she is my love. But she is also my best friend... And also a sincere patriot and a wonderful mother", the president said.
