Ukrainian forces repel 33 out of 40 attacks near Pokrovsk - General Staff

In the Pokrovsk direction alone, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian defense positions 40 times.

This was reported in the General Staff's update on Jan.30.

Several settlements have suffered from Russian shelling today, including Uhly in Chernihiv region, Studenok and Ulanove in Sumy region, and Tymofiivka in Kharkiv region.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, one battle is ongoing in the direction of Lyptsi.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian forces, with the support of aviation, attacked the positions of Ukraine's Defense Forces twice. Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy assaults near Petropavlivka and Novaya Kruhlyakivka.

In the Lyman direction, Russian enemy units attacked in the areas of the settlements of Kopanky, Nevske, Yampolivka, Zelena Dolyna, Terny and Kolodyazi. The Defense Forces repelled seven attacks, two more battles are ongoing.

In the Siversky direction, the Russian army made seven attempts to push the Ukrainian defenders from the occupied positions in the areas of Bilohorivka and Verkhniokamyanske, four battles are still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled five assault actions of the Russian invaders near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkovo, Chasiv Yar and Predtechyne, one battle is still ongoing. At the same time, the enemy launched airstrikes on the areas of Fedorivka, Tikhonivka and Bilokuzminivka.

In the Toretsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled seven Russian attacks in the areas of Toretsk, Shcherbinivka and Krymske, three clashes are still ongoing. Shcherbinivka and Ivanopillia were hit by airstrikes.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian invaders made 40 attempts to push the Defense Forces from their positions in the areas of the settlements of Malynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Vodyane Druge, Novotoretske, Promin, Pokrovsk, Lysivka, Novoukrainka, Udachne, Yasenove, Shevchenko and Dachne. Ukrainian soldiers repelled 33 enemy attacks in the direction. The enemy is suffering significant losses in manpower, the General Staff added.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the invading Russian army made one attack on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Kostiantynopol. The settlements of Rozlyv and Komar were subjected to airstrikes by guided aerial bombs.

In the Huliaypole direction, the aggressor made one attempt to push the Defense Forces from their positions in the Novosilka area. Ternove and Temyrivka were affected by enemy airstrikes.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy did not conduct active operations.

In the Prydniprovsky direction, the enemy launched five attacks and was repulsed.

In the Kursk region, Ukrainian forces have repelled seven attacks by Russian army, three clashes are ongoing, in addition, the enemy launched six airstrikes, dropping nine guided aerial bombs.

• On January 29, there were 158 combat engagements, with Russian forces launching 72 attacks in the Pokrovsk direction alone.
