Ukraine reports 158 clashes at front on Jan. 29, repels 72 attacks in Pokrovsk sector

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff stated this in its report as of 08:00 a.m.

A total of 158 combat clashes were recorded over the past day.

Yesterday, Russian forces launched 43 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, in particular, dropped 96 guided bombs. In addition, they used 2,120 ‘kamikaze’ drones and launched over 5,300 attacks, including 90 from multiple launch rocket systems.

Ten Ukrainian settlements were hit by Russian airstrikes.

The aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck ten Russian manpower and weapons concentrations, one air defense system, and two other important Russian military targets.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, according to updated information, Russian forces did not conduct offensive actions.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian troops launched ten attacks over the past day. Ukrainian forces repelled Russian assaults near Petropavlivka, Novoosynove, Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove, and Lozova.

In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attacked 26 times, attempting to advance near Novoyehorivka, Kopanky, Makiivka, Novoliubivka, Torske, Yampolivka, and Zelena Dolyna.

In the Siversk sector, Russian troops attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders six times near Verkhnokamianske.

In the Kramatorsk sector, ten combat clashes were recorded near Novomarkove, Chasiv Yar, and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian forces carried out 15 attacks near Krymske and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 72 attacks near Vodyane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Vidrodzhennia, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Kotliarivka, Andriivka, Dachne, and Ulakly.

In the Novopavlivka sector, Russian forces launched six attacks on Ukrainian positions near Kostiantynopil, Rozlyv, Rozdolne, and Novoocheretuvate.

In the Huliaipole, Orikhiv, and Prydniprovskyi sectors, Russian forces did not conduct any offensive actions but continued persistent shelling of Ukrainian positions and civilian infrastructure using all available weapons, including strike UAVs.

In the Kursk region, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled eight Russian attacks over the past day. Additionally, Russian troops carried out 19 airstrikes using 35 guided bombs and fired 426 times on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including 12 times from multiple launch rocket systems.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of Russian offensive groups were detected.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian army is actively using artillery and drones from the territory of the Russian Federation in the vicinity of Ukrainian settlements.

• On January 28, the invading Russian army lost 1,670 servicemen at the front. Ukraine's Defense Forces destroyed several pieces of Russian equipment, including 10 tanks.
