Zelenskyy believes that Putin's nuclear threats could become reality
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that the nuclear threat from the Russian Federation may become a reality
He said this in an interview with CBS.
"Look, maybe yesterday it was a bluff. Now it can become a reality," he said, answering a journalist's question about whether President Putin is bluffing by threatening Ukraine with nuclear weapons.
In this context, Zelenskyy mentioned the constant shelling of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, which is located in Energodar, which is temporarily occupied by Russia. And also about the attacks on the Southern Ukrainian NPP, during one of which the Russians fired an Iskander missile at the plant.
"The missile hit an area 300 meters from the nuclear power plant. The nuclear plant lost all its windows and doors. This is how he (Putin, editor) wants to scare the whole world. These are the first steps of his nuclear blackmail. I don't think he's bluffing,”Zelenskyy noted.
According to the President of Ukraine, the world is restraining this threat.
"We must continue to put pressure on him and not allow him to continue," Zelenskyy emphasized.
