Zelenskyy after his visit to Kherson region: more than 50 villages were almost completely destroyed by occupier
On March 23, Zelenskyy visited the liberated part of Kherson region and held a meeting on defense, social situation, energy and recovery issues
He announced this in his evening address.
"I held a long meeting in Kherson with all those responsible for the region: on defense, on the social situation. We separately and carefully reviewed the energy situation and recovery issues.
The security situation: Ukrainian response to Russian shelling of Kherson region, counter-battery fighting and everything else Ukrainian soldiers are doing to let the occupier know that we will not forgive and forget terror," the President said.
He also said that yesterday the Russian army attacked Kherson region again, striking Beryslav - the local administration, houses, and the museum:
"Even the historical museum in Beryslav is a threat to Russia for some reason... A state that is absolutely devoid of mind, a purely terrorist state. Which we will neutralize".
The meeting discussed that more than 50 villages in the free territory of Kherson region have been almost completely destroyed by the Russian occupiers. In some places, more than 90% of the buildings in the villages have been destroyed. But even in such villages, people are returning, and this is proof that life still wins:
"I was in one of the largest villages - Posad-Pokrovske. It used to be one of the largest before the Russian invasion. And we will do everything to make this village one of the largest again - we will do everything to rebuild Ukrainian territories."
The President expressed gratitude to all those who help restore normalcy after the Russian evil. To everyone who continues to work and provide jobs even in such difficult areas, to everyone who helps Ukrainian soldiers:
"I especially want to thank everyone involved in demining. It is nice to see when the fields of the Kherson region, cleared of Russian mines and shells, are cultivated again, live again.
Of course, there are still few such lands, and there is still enough work for our sappers and pyrotechnicians... But I am sure that we will cleanse our land of all the deadly manifestations of Russia. All of Ukraine will live."
