Russian forces planning new advance on Pokrovsk - Ukrainian military
Yegor Firsov, a Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman, says that Russian troops will try to capture the agglomeration and advance toward the Ukrainian city of Dnipro
Yegor Firsov stated this on Espreso TV.
“In general, based on the experiences from Avdiivka and Bakhmut, all these Russian attacks are wave-like. There was a wave, and now it has subsided a bit. This does not mean that the situation is stable, it is complicated but controlled. We can't relax, the Russians will soon, perhaps in a week or two, try to advance on Pokrovsk again. They may attempt to surround this agglomeration from the sides, as they did in Bakhmut and Avdiivka, and capture it in their so-called pincers. This is even 99%. However, it is 100% certain that the Russian forces will try to seize this agglomeration and reach the road to Dnipro," he said.
Firsov noted that Russian troops are currently attempting to move southward towards Kurakhove and Selydove.
“They are afraid to go directly, so as not to be in a position where their positions will be shelled from all sides. Russian forces are going to expand, as the Soviet military book says, and try to break through, to open the direction to Kurakhove,” he added.
- Since the start of the day, Russian forces have launched 123 attacks along the frontline, with the heaviest activity in the Kurakhove sector, accounting for a third of all assaults.
