120 clashes occur at front, Russian army active in Kurakhove sector - Ukraine's General Staff

Since the start of the day, Russian forces have launched 123 attacks along the frontline, with the heaviest activity in the Kurakhove sector, accounting for a third of all assaults

Ukraine's General Staff reported the information.

Russian shelling continues to hit border areas in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, affecting Mykolaivka, Velyka Pysarivka, Riasne, Porozok, Luhivka, Pokrovka, Boiaro-Lezhachi, Brusky, and Lemishchyno. Luhivka also came under fire twice from multiple rocket launchers.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces are assaulting Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk, with two combat engagements currently in progress.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russia launched seven attacks on Ukrainian positions, but Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled assaults near Stepova, Novoselivka, Synkivka, and Lozova. Five firefights are still ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, Russian units continue their attacks in the areas of Cherneshchyna, Hrekivka, Druzheliubivka, Nevske, Novosadove, Terny, and Zarichne. Since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian troops have repelled eight Russian attacks in this area, with three more combat engagements still in progress. The situation remains under control.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled a Russian attack near Vyimka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, with support from attack aircraft, Russian forces launched three assault operations near Chasiv Yar and Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk sector, Russia conducted six attacks today, targeting areas near Dachne, Toretsk, and Shcherbynivka. Ukrainian defenders have responded with resilience, repelling three attacks, while three more engagements are still in progress. Additionally, Russian aviation carried out bombing raids on Toretsk and Kleban-Byk.

In the Pokrovsk sector, since the start of the day, Russian troops have made 21 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from their positions in Vozdvyzhenka, Novotoretsk, Myroliubivka, Hrodivka, Chervone, Selydove, and Novohrodivka. Ukrainian forces successfully repelled 16 of these attacks, with five still ongoing.

The highest number of combat engagements has been reported in the Kurakhove sector, where Russian invaders have attacked Ukrainian units 40 times. Russian troops have attempted to advance near Tsukuryne, Zhelanne Pershe, Heorhiivka, Dalnie, Oleksandrivka, Katerynivka, and Kostiantynivka, with 10 assaults currently ongoing.

In the Vremivka sector, Russian forces launched eight unsuccessful attacks on Ukrainian positions near Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Bohoiavlenka.

In the Orikhiv sector, the village of Piatykhatki was struck by unguided aerial missiles. Additionally, Russian units made unsuccessful attempts to advance towards Mala Tokmachka, Lobkove, and Novodanylivka.

Ukraine’s operation in Russia’s Kursk region

The General Staff reports that operations by the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kursk region are ongoing.

“Since the beginning of the day, Russian aircraft have conducted 21 airstrikes, dropping 27 guided bombs on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the statement noted.

  • Over the past day, the Russian army lost 1,340 servicemen in the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian forces destroyed 20 Russian tanks and 39 armored vehicles.
