Ukrainian Air Defense takes down 5 Russian missiles, 11 Shahed drones overnight
On the night of Saturday, September 21, Russian forces launched another attack on Ukraine, firing missiles and drones. Ukrainian defenders successfully shot down 16 Russian air targets
The Air Force of Ukraine reported the information.
The report states that Ukrainian radio engineering troops tracked 25 Russian attack vehicles overnight.
Russian forces targeted the Dnipropetrovsk region with four Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from occupied Crimea and the Rostov region, along with five Kh-59/69 guided missiles from the airspace over Zaporizhzhia. They also launched 16 Shahed drones from Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk.
Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft units, and electronic warfare teams worked together to repel the attack. In total, five Kh-59/69 missiles and 11 drones were destroyed, while another five drones were neutralized by electronic measures.
Air defense units operated in Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Sumy, Poltava, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions throughout the night.
