Netherlands sends Patriot radar to Ukraine, set to deliver three launchers
The Netherlands has recently provided Ukraine with a Patriot radar and will soon deliver three launchers
This was announced by Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans on September 13, according to De Gelderlander.
Brekelmans stated that while the radar had already been sent, the three launchers will follow shortly. He also mentioned that other countries are still working on providing additional components to complete the Patriot system.
“We are still working on it,” said the minister, noting that discussions with "several partners" are ongoing.
The Defense Ministry also revealed that it has discovered that "one of the allies' commitments is not being fulfilled," but did not specify which country was involved.
Earlier this year, at the end of May, the Dutch Ministry of Defense launched a new initiative to transfer the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine and invited other countries to participate. The goal was to assemble and deliver a complete Patriot system to Ukraine with the help of nations that possess these systems.
A month later, then-Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren announced that the transfer was underway. She stated that "all the pieces of the puzzle" were now in place.
