Netherlands to provide Ukraine with Patriot air defense system
On June 21, Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren announced the transfer of the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine
The NL Times reports.
According to her, the Netherlands, together with another country, were able to assemble the parts that can then form a complete Patriot system.
Ollongren noted that air defense is crucial for Ukraine, so she considers it very good news that Romania also announced the delivery of the Patriot system this week.
In addition, the minister added that the United States is also working to provide more assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
For example, at the Patriot meeting in Brussels last week, another inventory was taken to help Ukraine with its air defense. As the head of the Dutch defense ministry noted, "all the pieces of the puzzle" were on the table.
Ollongren did not disclose which country is helping to supply the system. She believes that this should be announced by the country concerned.
- On June 21, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that he considers the United States' decision to provide Ukraine with Patriot air defense missiles out of the queue of other customer states a problem.
