"We shoot at invading Russian forces with everything we have": Yaroslav Lysenko describes fighting in Lyman area
Yaroslav Lysenko, a fighter with Ukraine's Freedom Battalion, says that the invading Russian forces are trying to escape along field roads in the Lyman area, but Ukrainian artillery is able to reach any enemy column
He shared the details with Espreso TV.
"I think that there is no planned retreat. The Russian forces have a small 'stream' left, most likely, it is field roads, and they are fleeing along these field roads, ahead of each other. Our artillery can now reach any column, no orders, of course, we cannot have any orders not to harm them, so the boys shoot at them with everything they have. The gunners told me that they are not boiling yet, but their barrels are already red-hot, because they are killing the enemy without sparing the equipment," Yaroslav Lysenko said.
A soldier with the Freedom Battalion believes that the invading Russian forces are trying to escape en masse from the Lyman area, and that the Ukrainian military is already approaching Lysychansk.
"I think there is a mass exodus happening there now, and it will continue further and further. There, in the surrounding cities, and I think as far as Rubizhne, rumors abound that the Ukrainian army is very powerful and very skillfully advancing. We need to prepare not only to liberate Lyman, but also to prepare for the entrance to Rubizhne and Severodonetsk, and before that to Lysychansk, because there are almost 20 km left to Lysychansk. Where there is a high bank, you can already see the Lysychansk oil refinery and the city itself as if in the palm of your hand. Therefore, I think that in another day or two, of course, we will see how the political situation will develop due to Putin's statement. I think that less than a week is left before we capture this huge agglomeration, in which we and the Freedom Battalion began to defend the Luhansk region, I mean Rubizhne, Lysychansk, and Severodonetsk," he said.
