US should continue supporting Ukraine: White House reacts to Zaluzhnyi's article
US National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby commented on the article by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi for The Economist
Kirby expressed his opinion during a press briefing in Washington.
According to John Kirby, Valerii Zaluzhnyi's article is one of the important arguments that confirms the need for further support for Ukraine.
"I think it underscores how important it is that we continue to support Ukraine.
I can’t stand here today and tell you that it’s going to lead to this particular weapons system or this new capability. We are evolving and have evolved what we’ve provided Ukraine as the war itself has evolved, and I suspect that that process will continue," the Biden adviser said.
The US National Security Council Coordinator noted that during the war, the needs of the sides changed, including the weapons systems provided by partners to Ukraine.
Kirby emphasized that it would be much easier to meet the current needs if the US Congress approved President Joe Biden's request for additional funding. Kirby also noted that this package provides not only new opportunities for Ukraine, but also replenishment of US resources.
