Ukrainian forces step up pressure on Russian army in Kherson region's left bank – UK Ministry of Defenсe
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have increased pressure on the Russian occupying forces in the left-bank part of the Kherson region near the destroyed Antonivskyi bridge, while Russia is forced to involve some of its units in defence in the Zaporizhzhia direction
This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defenсe.
"Since around 23 June 2023, Ukrainian forces have almost certainly restarted deploying personnel to the east bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast, near the ruined Antonovskiy Bridge," the report says.
British intelligence also notes that fighting on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River near the bridge has intensified since June 27, 2023.
"The defending Russian force includes elements of Russia’s 7th Guards Air Assault Division, part of the Dnipro Group of Forces (DGF)," the ministry said.
At the same time, in recent weeks, Russia has probably redeployed elements of the Dnipro Group of Forces, which defend the Dnipro bank, to strengthen the Zaporizhzhia direction.
"Combat around the bridge head is almost certainly complicated by the flooding, destruction and residual mud from the collapse of the Kakhovka dam on 06 June 2023," the statement added.
